Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is a leading Bay Area private healthcare college offering an extensive variety of nursing and allied healthcare programs such as: Vocational Nurse, Psychiatric Technician and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN pathway) as well as Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant and Phlebotomy Technician and healthcare programs: Associate of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant, Ultrasound Technology, MRI, Radiologic Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Imaging.
We are currently seeking an Full-Time, Admissions Advisor for our San Jose, CA Campus.
The Admissions Advisor [AA] is considered both a career counselor and initial assessor of student appropriateness for Gurnick Academy programs. The AA is ultimately the primary screen for student acceptance through using a combination of tools including interviewing, initial competency test scores, review of experience, and review of prior academic requirements. The AA will ultimately require the knowledge of each program at their campus and be prepared to offer counsel to prospective students on both the viability of the program for the student and ensuring the students stated goals are in alignment with the career opportunities presented by the program the student is interested in. In the advisory role, the AA will monitor students enrolled during the pre-requisite course and the first 30 days of the program to help support the student through the transition process and if necessary revisit the initial goals and personal situation of the student.
Requirements:
- Experience working within an academic admissions environment
- Associate Degree, Bachelors Degree Preferred
- Recruitment, interviewing and selection skills and experience
- Experience working with an applicant tracking system
- Strong interpersonal skills developed within a counseling and advisory capacity
- Excellent time management, detail-orientation and team player skills
