Summary of Job Duties:
The Athletic Financial Analyst will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Accounting, Budget, and Financial Reporting. This position is a specialized role that combines financial analysis with a focus on the sports and athletics industry. This position involves managing and analyzing financial data related to sports teams, athletic programs, or sports organizations.

The Athletic Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and strategic success of athletic programs and sports organizations by providing insightful analysis and strategic recommendations.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Math, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or financial management
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g. Excel, financial modeling software)
  • Experience in fiscal operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Math, Actuarial Science, or Data Analytics
  • Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization experience
  • Workday or ERP experience
  • Experience in the sports or entertainment industry is a plus

In accordance with Board Policy 440.1, and consistent with the guidelines contained in UA Systemwide Policies and Procedures 445.1, full-time (100% appointed) UAF employees hired prior to May 1, 2017 will be eligible for a 90% tuition discount at the Fayetteville campus providing they were enrolled in a degree program and received the discount prior to May 1, 2017, and remain continuously enrolled in the same degree program. Employees meeting these criteria enrolled in a degree program offered by any other campus of the University of Arkansas can receive a 70% tuition discount for undergraduate and eligible graduate courses.

Full-time UAF employees hired after May 1, 2017, or who begin taking classes or resume taking classes after May 1, 2017, will receive a 90% reduction in tuition at the Fayetteville campus, but will be limited to no more than 132 discounted credit hours for undergraduate classes and no more than 72 discounted credit hours for graduate classes. Employees in this category can receive a 50% discount for undergraduate courses only taken at any other University of Arkansas campus, up to 132 credit hours.

Spouses and eligible dependent children will receive a 50% discount for undergraduate classes only, up to 132 credit hours. Spouses and eligible dependent children receive a 40% discount on undergraduate classes (limited to 132 hours) at any other campus of the University of Arkansas System.
