Duties & Essential Job Functions1. Supports the overall development of the Facilities Operations Budget and the University Capital Budget by providing necessary analyses and guidance to Facilities Finance and Business Operations leadership.
2. Monitors organizational spending to ensure the division is within budget; confirms funding of requisitions and contract spend; approves exceptions from the automated purchase order/invoice match system.
3. Prepares budget adjustment/amendment requests, based upon approved changes to overall funding.
4. Provides department and expense analysis ensuring timely transparency in operating performance. Conducts trend analysis, in a timely manner; evaluates data points, develop best practices for analyzing classification of work performed on a historic basis.
5. Develops reporting, including but not limited to, operational initiatives/metrics, facilities budget status, university capital reporting. Creates ad hoc performance reports, as necessary, to assist management in evaluating business performance. Creates presentations to communicate financial and operational results.
6. Assists with project setup, status and closeout within Facilities systems and university Accounting
7. Generates monthly internal management reports to track financial status and ensure costs are accurately stated; processes correcting journal entries as necessary and chargeback entries to departments.
8. Stays up to date on current market trends.
9. Performs business case, return on investment analysis to draw logical conclusions and make recommendations to management team.
10. Maintains metrics, planning assumptions, historical and trend data.
11. Performs other related duties and special projects, as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field of study
- 3 years of experience in financial management, accounting, forecasting, or reporting and analysis.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Experience with reporting tools, such as Peoplesoft and NVision

- Knowledge of basic research techniques.
- Knowledge of accounting processes.
- Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations required to perform the job.
- Knowledge of department specific software.
- Knowledge of university procure-to-pay automation software.
- Knowledge of university financial system.
- Knowledge and good understanding of internal controls.
- Skills in Excel (Advanced) and other Microsoft Office tools (proficiency).
- Ability to use and maintain strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, especially with non-finance staff.
- Ability to be detail-oriented, multi-task, maintain accuracy of information, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
