Video Editor

JOB PURPOSE:

Edit content for a broadcast-style news program

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assemble raw footage in preparation for inputting into a broadcast format.
  2. Input uncut rushes and sound; synchronize and store them onto Student Media’s warehouse and broadcast platforms.
  3. Digitally cut files and prepare the sequence of the broadcast.
  4. Create a rough cut of the program/film to utilize in determining the final product.
  5. Oversee the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing.
  6. Write voiceovers or commentary for the reporters as needed.
  7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
  2. Ability to edit raw content to produce a broadcast or other video product.
  3. Knowledge of broadcast journalism principles and techniques.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Some supervisory experience.
  2. Knowledge of video editing techniques, protocols and standards.
