Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Multilingual Programs Director will provide vision and strategic direction for the development and implementation of the Building Puentes Program at Weber State University. This groundbreaking initiative will offer stackable, bilingual credentials and will also facilitate the expansion of bilingual coursework and student support. The Program Director will oversee all aspects of program development, implementation, and expansion working closely with faculty, staff, community stakeholders, and industry partners to break barriers to educational attainment while meeting the needs of the local workforce. This grant-funded position will be available as either a full-time staff position or a part-time position for a faculty member paired with a stipend and two-course release.

This position will dual report to the Dean for Online and Continuing Education and the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies.

Required Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • 2 years of related experience that includes professional experience in higher education.
  • Project management experience that includes the ability to develop and execute detailed plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated understanding of bilingual education principles and practices, including translanguaging and code-switching techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage a variety of stakeholders and build collaborative partnerships.
  • Experience working with various student populations, particularly Hispanic/Latino communities.
  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, and/or donor relations.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and educational technologies.
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and build consensus among a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess and creatively problem-solve barriers to student recruitment, enrollment, registration, and success.
  • Strategically allocate resources while navigating competing needs from stakeholders.
