North Carolina CPA Foundation Inc.

Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. In prior years, there were 40 scholarships awarded.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to North Carolina students who are enrolled in an academic program yielding a degree in accounting or its equivalent and have completed 36 or more semester hours. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.Application requirements for the North Carolina CPA Foundation Scholarship Program are:

Additional Information: The essay will weigh substantially in the scholarship awarding process. The reviewers (members of the accounting education subcommittee) will consider grammar, punctuation, organization, style, content, creativity, and appropriate references or citations when applicable. The weight of each required component is as follows: essay content, 35 percent; essay grammar, etc., 35 percent; extracurricular work/activities, 30 percent. Applicants must be sponsored by one accounting faculty member who can be contacted by the Foundation via email.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $5,000 annually, non-renewable. All qualified applicants will be automatically offered a complimentary one-year membership with the North Carolina Association of CPAs. Previous recipients may reapply. There is a three-year maximum limit for awards per student. The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
