Our flexible study programme at one of the world’s leading centres for geographical research puts you in control. The Geography BA course begins with a broad foundation, during which you are introduced to both human and physical geography. In the second and third years, our modules lead progressively to increasing specialised content focused on the cutting-edge of human geography research. There is also the opportunity to study integrated modules that span the human/physical geography interface. You can also apply to add a placement year or a year abroad to your degree, increasing the course from three years to four. In the final year, you will undertake your own geographical research project. There is no such thing as a typical Geography career but if you want to make sure that you are highly employable with a variety of transferable skills, that prepare you for the global challenges of the 21st century, then Geography is a great choice.

    A level A*AA We accept a wide range of qualifications from the UK and the rest of the world for entry to our undergraduate courses. Entry requirements per course will differ, and some courses may require previous study in certain subjects.

    Our offers are usually based on the grades you achieve from your best three A levels, with grades ranging from A*A*A to BBB, but we don’t accept General Studies. For applicants whose first language is not English, we accept these recognised English Language Tests UKVI/SELT IELTS and, they are listed on our International Entry Requirements page.

    International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme 38 We accept the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Career-elated programme (where this includes three individual Diploma Higher Level subjects). Offers are usually made on achievement of an overall IB Diploma grade or three individual

    Higher Level subjects at specified grades, including specific grades in specific subjects where this is needed for the course. For applicants whose first language is not English, we accept these recognised English Language Tests UKVI/SELT IELTS and, they are listed on our International Entry Requirements page.
